ABS-CBN Foundation’s “Kapit Bisig Para Sa Ilog Pasig” (KBPIP) is working with race organizers Eric Imperio, Rio de la Cruz and Thumbie Remigio as they attempt to gather 120,000 runners and beat the current Guinness record of 110,000 held by the 1988 “Bay to Breakers” race in San Francisco, USA. This will be held on October 10, 2010 (10.10.10) and will have three categories: 3K, 5K and 10K run with each category starting from a different place.
The 3K run will start at the SM Mall of Asia, 5K at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and 10K at the corner of Ayala Avenue and Paseo de Roxas in Makati City.
Most of the participants will come from schools – mostly students. Rio Dela Cruz, a known runner will be one of the organizers and in charge in the event. The other two are Eric Imperio and Thumbie Remigio, all being known as icons in the local running circuit.
