Cory Remembered

Yesterday, August 1, 2010 marked the first death anniversary of former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino who died of complications of Colon Cancer.  All Filipinos around the world mourn for such a great loss.  She was considered as the Mother of Democracy and stood to oust the Marcos regime.  Her death paved the way for the presidency of his only son, Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III in the 2010 elections.  Love and support from friends, families and supporters overflowed at her tomb beside her husband, the late Senator Ninoy Aquino in Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City.

  1. Thank you for what? I never really understood what was so great about her… Was there anything good about her administration? All I can remember was brownouts and coup d’etat s? I mean don’t get me wrong I do not hate her but I think she is just overrated – there is nothing really special about her. And she raised Noynoy “Abnoy” – nuf said….

  2. It is not a matter of perception – i.e. I perceive that Cory is great but is she great? is she Saintly?

We should look at the facts before we start thanking or glorifying someone who does not deserve it. Fine she is a good person but not a good leader….
