The news broke today (Dec. 14, 2010) that the Supreme Court acquits Hubert Webb from being one of the prime suspects in the Vizconde Massacre. After 15 years in prison, Webb is now free to go. The Vizconde massacre was one of the most controversial crimes in the Philippine history where Mr. Lauro Vizconde’s family was murdered in their own home in BF Homes Parañaque, Manila on the night of June 30, 1991. It took 19 years to come up with the resolution that sets Hubert Webb free along with six others. Mr. Lauro Vizconde and his family on the other hand do not accept the outcome.
The case was highly publicized in early 90’s and gathered a lot of reactions and criticisms from a lot of Filipinos around the world.
