Starbucks has been one of the most crowded places in the Philippines nowadays. Before, pinoys are not fond of drinking frapuccinos and even spending much for a coffee. But with the presence of Starbucks, new breeds of coffee shops emerged in different cities. It is now a household name that mostly everyone knows. For me, they have the best tasting coffee and their crew is uniquely different – in a good way. Take a look at the logos they’ve used for the past 40 years (wow!, I just knew of Starbucks when I was in college.. :P)
This 2011 might be a year for change. Yeah it’s the new year and Starbucks is showing us a new logo after 4 years of brainstorming. Now presenting…
Nothing has changed but the absence of the Starbucks company name, all green now and a bigger picture of the bare siren. Since there were no major changes in the logo, I think it’s just okay. They should have announced that it’s a “renovated” look instead of “new”.
Based from reports, they dropped the company name for possibilities of other business ventures in the future – not just coffee. They might try blank CDs/DVDs, then earphones, then keyboards, then USB mouse, then wireless routers, then flash drivers, then media players, then aergo chairs, then cables, then LOL… sounds like CD-R king eh?.. hehe But seriously, that’s a great leap for Starbucks. There’s a lot more options coming up, not just caffeine.. 🙂
I think the logo will hit sometime in April. As long as the coffee taste, customer service, ambiance and price don’t change (not mentioning all branches in PH will have free high-speed wifi access!), I’ll be a loyal customer!
What do you think of the new logo, peeps?
